LSU Executive Education in LSU’s E.J. Ourso College of Business honored the Top 100 businesses at a dinner Thursday at L’Auberge Casino Hotel in Baton Rouge.

MasteryPrep, a Baton Rouge company that helps high schools prepare students for the ACT test was ranked No. 2 on the list. Skyhawk, a Baton Rouge tech and security firm, was third on the list.

Other members of the top five are Safe Chain Solutions, a Cambridge, Maryland-based distributor of pharmaceutical products and medical supplies; and Hatchit, a customized website developer in Baton Rouge that recently merged with another local business that made the LSU 100, Big Fish Presentations, to form ThreeSixtyEight.

Bridger Logistics, a Carrollton, Texas, company that transports crude oil to refineries, was awarded the LSU 100 Summit Award for generating the highest amount of revenue in 2014 and ranked 17 in growth. The company, which was founded in 2010, is led by Julio E. Rios II, president and CEO. Rios earned a bachelors and a law degree from LSU.

LSU officials would not disclose the revenue of the 100 companies. Businesses submit financial details to LSU to be considered for the Top 100 list. They have to be in business for five years or more, had verifiable revenue of $100,000 for the 2012 to 2015 calendar years and have a former LSU student as owner of at least 50 percent of the company or as chief executive officer, president or managing partner. Rankings are determined by compound annual growth over a three-year period.

Since the first LSU 100 was first compiled in 2011, nine companies have made the list all six years: Gladden Sales, Global Data Vault, Horizon Wealth Management, Immense Networks, J.P. Oil Co., Lipsey’s LLC, SGS Petroleum Service Corp., Sparkhound and USA Technologies Inc.

The companies listed here in the Top 100 are by area/city, alphabetically by company name, with their ranking.
